American Power Conversion (APC), a manufacturer of data center power and cooling solution, has added a new reward program to its existing partner program. According to ChannelWeb, this is just the beginning; the company expects to continue to add incentives as a strategy to provide its solution providers choices as to how the can be rewarded.
Gordon Lord, director of channel marketing and programs for the West Kingston, R.I.-based provider of data center power and cooling solutions, “The new APC Rewards Program gives solution providers regardless of level the opportunity to earn points based on sales of almost all APC products and then redeem those points for consumer products such as travel or race car driving.”
The program allows for options that will enable partners to redeem the points through the company’s top four distributors. Taking the first step in this work-in-progress, Lord explained that they are working hard and taking the necessary steps to “make the plumbing work.”
Implementing a points-based loyalty program was a popular way to target individual sales reps, added Lord. Thinking forward, APC expects those rewards to change and broaden to become much more flexible for channel partners.
In efforts to do their part for the environmental movement, APC conducted a special promotion back in April of this year in recognition of Earth Day. The company donated $5 for each power-saving surge protectors it sold between April 18 and April 24.
