Points.com, owner and operator of the world's top loyalty reward program management platform, recently announced it is increasing earning opportunities for members of the Alitalia MilleMiglia program.

With the MilleMiglia Mall, a new online shopping mall connected to the airline, the Alitalia MilleMiglia will allow its program members to earn extra miles for their purchases.

"This new online mall gives MilleMiglia members an opportunity to earn miles for a vast array of new items they purchase," said Rob MacLean, CEO at Points.com. "We are excited to continue to grow our partnership with Alitalia and its MilleMiglia program by enabling this expansion into the international ecommerce arena."

Powered by Incentive Networks and Points.com, the MilleMiglia Mall includes some of the leading European retailers with Carrefour, FNAC, Bol.it, Apple Store and Pixmania among the top contributors. The mall also offers improved product search and displays for relevant coupons as well as discounts for participating merchants. Members can click through to their favorite merchant after logging into their account and make purchases with miles automatically deposited into the member's account.

"The new MilleMiglia Mall allows our customers to earn more miles simply by shopping online for products from many of the best brands in the world," said Alfio Messina, director of relationship marketing and loyalty development at Alitalia. "Taking our affiliation with Points.com to the next level with this unique opportunity to turn regular purchases into miles is a logical step for us, as we continue to seek ways to make MilleMiglia the best frequent flyer program for our customers."

Customer rewards programs are experiencing an increased presence on social media sites that are growing in popularity, such as Facebook and Twitter. Plink recently launched a Facebook Credits-based loyalty program that rewards the site's users for dining at chain restaurants like Taco Bell, Red Robin, Quiznos, Dunkin' Donuts and Outback Steakhouse.

Once the user is logged into the Plink program through their Facebook account with a registered payment card, they can begin earning rewards that can be redeemed with participating merchants and businesses.
