Children Focused Channel@Work is Lead-in for XChange Americas Event

A unique and charitable project for children was initiated through Everything Channel. The project, Channel@Work incentive program, made its debut at the Denver Convention Center and Hyatt Regency Denver on August 10 through the 13th.

Everything Channel is known for its IT focused events, consulting, media, marketing and sales services, and research, and launched the Channel@Work initiative just before the XChange Americas event. The incentive program will provide a number of services and supplies, including technology strategies and children’s back-to-school supplies for the Boys & Girls Club Boettcher branch.

The club, situated in the northwest Aurora area, provides services to approximately 1,000 children from low-income families.

Everything Channel’s senior vice president of events Lisa Mackenzie said, “We never know what we will find when we make contact with the club in our host city.” She added that the Boettcher club is an amazing fit in that they provide a technology program, “something near and dear to us, and a place where our community has the means to contribute a little extra.”

The Channel@Work incentive program will move forward from the Everything Channel initiative; it is designed to donate manpower, funds, and technology to those locations where company events are hosted.

The program’s structure consists of three features and this year’s launch demonstrated its effectiveness:

1. Microsoft donated 500 backpacks filled with school supplies for the Build-a-Backpack feature. The supplies included an assortment of required return-to-school items.

2. Handling maintenance and clean-up, Scrub-a-Club provided special teams. The teams worked hard at the club’s facilities to create a clean and inviting environment. They also brightened the area up with art pieces.

3. Focusing on the club’s technology program, Technology Refresh upgraded the program by “integrating the information technology chapter of the channel community.”

Striving to create and maintain channel success, the XChange Americas event is a forum that connects partners and allows them to discuss new channel strategies and regulations.

Robert DeMarzo explained, “Anyone in the IT industry knows, the rules of engagement change quickly.” He added that in order to keep a step ahead of ongoing changes, the company is excited to provide “attendees practical advice from industry thought leaders at our annual XChange Americas event.” DeMarzo, the senior vice president of strategic content for Everything Channel, went on to say that Everything Channel is counted on for continued expertise in the channel arena and it will strive to keep that commitment strong and steady as models shift “to deliver the resources that channel IT executives need to make strategic decisions.”
