Employee Recognition Program Hosted by NY Hospital

Charles F. Fahd, II, Chief Executive Officer, addressed the employees of Massena Memorial Hospital in its 16th Annual Employee Recognition Program. The program held each year is to recognize and honor staff members who achieved career highlights during the year.

The 2010 recognition program theme was Vision, Enthusiasm, Hard Work and Desire.

“Tonight marks yet another milestone that is truly amazing to me that we honor 58 people who dedicated their healthcare careers at MMH, as we recognize and celebrate more than 715 years of combined commitment, dedication and service excellence to our hospital and community,” explained Fahd.

One employee in particular, Carolyn Ramsdell, served in the hospital’s Nutrition Services Department for over 40 years. This is a perfect example of employee loyalty and commitment.

Personal recognition by senior staff goes a long way in making employees feel appreciated. In fact, a 2007 survey by Accountemps demonstrated that a simple acknowledgment of an employee’s efforts and accomplishments by company leaders is the top ranked non-monetary employee incentive.

Employees need a ‘pat on the back’ and ‘thank you’ on a regular basis to feel their contributions are valued. This type of incentive strategy will help foster satisfied and loyal employees.
